It is important to remember that your hospital bill covers services provided by the hospital: room, nursing care, meals, housekeeping and linen. It may also include services ordered by your physician: X-rays, laboratory tests, medical supplies and oxygen. The bill does not include charges for your personal physician, surgeon, anesthesiologist, pathologist, emergency physician, radiologist, or other physician assistants. You will receive separate bills from these physicians.
Our financial services office can resolve any questions that you may have. Redmond Regional Medical Center looks forward to serving you in the future.
Financial Procedures
- We verify your insurance coverage and determine
the benefits the day following your admission to
the hospital. We are then able to estimate your
portion of the total bill.
- If your insurance carrier participates with us
through a managed care program, we are able
to give you a very accurate figure because the
contracts usually allow a certain amount per day.
- If we are estimating you owe any portion of the
bill, you will be asked to stop by the cashiers'
office upon discharge to setup monthly payments
unless prior arrangements are made.
- To make your discharge easier, we highly
recommend that a family member come to the
cashiers' office before the patient is actually
leaving.
- If you are in a private room or a suite, there is
a price difference. Most insurance companies
do not cover the private room difference so you
will be asked to pay that amount prior to your
discharge.
- If you are age 50 or older, we have a Senior
Friends program that may be of benefit to you.
There are many benefits--the most noted are:
4 free-meal tickets for inpatients, and a private
room at semi-private rates when available.
- If you do not have insurance, you will be asked to
fill out a financial worksheet. These worksheets
ask information about your finances. They are
then reviewed and compared to our guidelines.
If you meet the requirements, you may qualify
for a 100% adjustment of your bill; if you do not
qualify for the 100%, you may qualify for a partial
adjustment if you agree to pay the remaining
balance.
